For a client image project, define the intended use, composition, dimensions and approval process before choosing a generation subscription. A striking preview is only one part of a usable final asset.
Updated October 9, 2026. This is a source-based buying guide and an original image acceptance checklist. Earlier numeric ratings, model-version assumptions, comparative winners and unmeasured speed claims have been removed. We have not benchmarked Midjourney’s image quality against other generators.
Separate generation allowances from delivery capacity
The official plan comparison , checked October 9, lists Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega as renewing subscriptions. Fast GPU time, concurrency and queue limits differ. Relax-mode image generation is listed for Standard, Pro and Mega; Stealth is limited to Pro and Mega.
Monthly and annual commitments differ, and extra GPU time is offered separately. Obtain the current quote and estimate iteration work before choosing a plan. Generation capacity is not a guarantee of a fixed number of client-approved images or a delivery deadline.
This guide concerns static images. It does not propose adding video production to the workflow.
Check visibility before submitting a brief
The Stealth documentation says images created in public Discord channels remain visible there even when Stealth is enabled. It also says changing the default mode does not automatically change existing creations.
Inspect the current setting and creation route before uploading any authorised reference. A paid subscription or private conversation alone is insufficient evidence of the intended visibility. Do not use a confidential client brief to discover how sharing works.
Read usage conditions before promising rights
The current terms , checked October 9, condition asset ownership on applicable law, the agreement and third-party rights. They include a Pro/Mega requirement for companies or employees of companies above the stated annual revenue threshold, and a licence granted to Midjourney for submitted and generated content.
The terms do not provide a general non-infringement warranty. This guide therefore does not label a generator “commercially safe” or promise exclusive ownership of every output. Check the actual intended use and authorised references before agreeing the client deliverable.
The same terms prohibit automated tools for accessing, interacting with or generating assets through the service. Do not assume a consumer subscription supplies an approved automation API.
Write an image acceptance brief
Use this original template before producing variations. It is a proposed specification, not a completed test.

For a blog cover, check the image at a small preview size as well as full size. Do not embed a fabricated product score or imply that a conceptual illustration is a screenshot or measured result.
A proposed static-image acceptance exercise
This exercise has not been executed for this review. Use a fictional brief and authorised material.
- Specify one editorial illustration with a clear focal point and space for a headline.
- Record the selected model, settings, plan and visibility before generation.
- Inspect candidate images for incorrect objects, unwanted marks and misleading detail.
- Check the intended crop and small-screen readability.
- Add exact text with an appropriate editing tool and proofread the final asset.
- Review the asset against the usage and reference requirements.
- Deliver the approved files with dimensions, version and any agreed disclosure.
Record actual corrections and work time. Do not convert a successful single example into a universal quality or savings claim.
Budget for selection and corrections

Check the current Midjourney plans after documenting volume, visibility, rights requirements and the client acceptance process.
